Gibbons Company Wins TechWeek Web Award
The TechWeek Technology Innovation Awards, which celebrate innovative ways businesses and individuals use technology to make a difference in Bermuda everyday, were held on Friday, May 1, 2009.
Ministry of Energy, Telecommunications and E-Commerce, Mr. Terry Lister, presented awards to winners in the following categories:
Best Interactive Experience, Best Local Website, Most Inspiring Technology Teacher, Best Business Solution Using Technology, Best Customer Service, Technology in the Environment, Most Innovative Sponsor and top category, Innovation of the Year.
Gibbons Company’s new website was awarded “Best Interactive Experience”:
“This website offers full purchasing, special offers, exclusive products, full content management, HTML newsletters, full search engine and personalization of gift cards with photos and text and customers can choose their choice of gift wrap, colours and sizes. Corporate customers can bulk order gift cards personalized with their logo.”
The award, of hand-blown glass, was designed by Dockyard Glassworks and is as creative as many of the exceptional technology innovations presented during the awards ceremony.
